Commissioning a chair is straightforward and allows you to choose the style, timber, and finish that best suit your space.

The Commissioning Process

1. Choose a Chair Style

Select from the designs shown on the Chair Styles page.

2. Select Timber, Turning Style & Finish

Chairs are made using ash or beech for the main components, with seat options in ash, elm, or oak. Chairs can either be made with traditional decorative turnings or plain turnings. As standard, chairs are finished with Danish oil and hot wax, which enhances the natural character of the timber. Alternative finishes, including traditional stain and coloured wax can be discussed if you have a specific preference. 

3. Confirm Details & Lead Time

Before work begins, I will confirm dimensions, timber choice, finish, and the current lead time. I aim for approximately 12 weeks, although this may vary depending on style, timber availability, and demand.

4. Completion & Collection / Delivery

You are welcome to collect your chair in person. I also offer free delivery within Somerset. Deliveries are grouped where possible for efficiency and environmental consideration.
