I make Windsor chairs to order using traditional methods and locally sourced hardwoods. Chairs can be commissioned in the styles shown on this website and made to suit your home, dining table, or specific requirements.

How the Process Works

1. Choose a Chair Style
Select from the Windsor chair designs shown on the Chair Styles page.

2. Select Timber & Finish
Chairs are typically made in oak, ash or beech. I also have locally sourced elm available to use as seat material. I can either finish the chairs in Danish oil and hot wax or traditional stain, shellac and wax. 

3. Confirm Details & Lead Time
I will confirm the approximate dimensions, timber choice, and current lead time before work begins. I aim to work to a lead time of 12 weeks, however this can be longer or shorter depending on timber choice, style and demand. 

4. Completion & Collection / Delivery
Once complete, I welcome and encourage in-person collections of chairs. However, I also deliver for free within a 50 mile radius of the workshop. Due to being a small business, I will pool deliveries over this distance together for both time and environmental benefits.
